Like many drawn to Canada, Daniel was motivated by the promise of new opportunities and the chance to be part of an active tech community. He moved from France in 2012 for professional growth and a lifestyle that balances work and well-being. Daniel joined Ollon in 2016, bringing a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to delivering meaningful solutions. "I started by doing a lot of software development initially, and now I’m more focused on management. I love the software aspect of it," he shares.

His time at Ollon has been characterized by continuous growth in both skills and perspective. To Daniel, being a developer goes beyond just coding; it involves understanding clients’ needs, anticipating future demands, and creating scalable and sustainable solutions. “We are not following a formula; you have to be flexible and adapt to any challenges that arise. Development can present problems at any time, so you must be ready and adaptable,” he remarks. Each project he undertakes helps refine his skills and encourages him to look beyond current challenges.

“There was one project where I had to wear multiple hats, even taking on some HR responsibilities. I initially joined as a lead developer but also had to handle DevOps tasks due to a lack of structure, which I built from scratch. I am proud of that experience,” he recalls.

This project pushed the boundaries of his technical capabilities and demonstrated the power of teamwork and a shared vision at Ollon. As part of the development team, he embraced the challenge of building the product from the ground up. Daniel recognizes that change is constant in technology and adjusts easily to shifts in the tech landscape or client expectations. He considers himself a jack of all trades, ready to tackle any challenge.

While professional development can be intellectually rewarding, Daniel acknowledges the difficulty of balancing work, personal life, and outside interests. He candidly shares, “I have a two-year-old son who helps me maintain that balance! Everything revolves around him.”
