From DevOps to Innovation: Jyoti's Journey at Ollon

At Ollon, our people are at the heart of everything we do, each contributing unique experiences and perspectives. Today, we’re excited to share insights from Jyoti Yennam, who joined Ollon almost four years ago and has been an essential part of our DevOps initiatives since then.

For Jyoti, moving to Ontario from India in 2021 was driven by her desire for a better quality of life. "I moved to Ontario with my family," she says. "It has been an exciting chapter for my personal and professional growth." Joining Ollon allowed her to explore her fascination with DevOps in greater depth. It provided her with the opportunity to work with the latest tools and techniques while enhancing her skills beyond traditional development. This transition enabled her to tackle challenging projects and strengthen her expertise in both development and operations.

Jyoti's journey into DevOps began with an interest in bridging the gap between the two fields. "I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of development and operations, and DevOps offers the perfect blend of automation, infrastructure management, and software delivery," she explains. This passion for streamlining processes and creating seamless workflows inspired her career path.

Since joining Ollon, Jyoti has played a crucial role in projects that require a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and automation. "My expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation with Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines significantly shape my development approach. I focus on building scalable, secure, and efficient systems," she shares. This skill set has proven invaluable in various initiatives, including a project she takes great pride in involving multiple clients.

"I am currently working with an amazing client to migrate their entire AWS infrastructure to be managed with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform," Jyoti says. "My role involves implementing stringent security measures with the Palo Alto firewall, developing cost-effective solutions, and ensuring the system is secure and scalable." This project showcases her dedication to not only meeting standards but exceeding them. She transforms complex tasks into smooth, efficient workflows, ensuring that processes continually improve. This reflects her commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Beyond her technical achievements, Jyoti recognizes the importance of life outside of Ollon. "Balancing life and work can be challenging, but practicing yoga daily helps me stay calm and focused," she explains. Her weekends are filled with rejuvenating outdoor activities. "On weekends and holidays, I enjoy hiking with my family and gardening, which allows me to recharge and maintain a healthy balance."

Her creative approach to problem-solving shines through her work—a standout example involved streamlining asset management reporting for a client. "I worked with a client who needed detailed reports for asset management based on security policies for non-compliant devices on Microsoft Entra ID. I used Microsoft Power Automate Flows and Azure Automation Runbooks to generate and deliver these reports to SharePoint, Teams, and email, significantly streamlining the process," she explains. This innovative solution met the client’s needs and established a more efficient method of managing data. Jyoti believes that cross-team collaboration sparks innovative solutions and enhances knowledge sharing across the organization.
