Ice Manufacturer

Mobile Ice Order and Delivery

An ice manufacturer serving 75,000 customers who order about 2 billion bags a year needed an e-commerce app to cut call center demand from franchisees placing orders by phone. Ollon built a React Native app for order placement, delivery tracking, and order history, integrated directly with Microsoft Dynamics. The company saw fewer service calls and requested three rounds of feature additions after launch.

A leading ice manufacturer services 75,000 customers, including gas stations, grocery stores, and other retailers across the U.S, who order approximately 2 billion bags of ice per year.

Ollon developed a new app from the ground up, working closely with their team to identify the key features and functionalities needed to address their needs, including order tracking and history, delivery schedules, and driver information.

Ollon's solution resulted in improved customer experience, increased efficiency, and decreased call centre demand. Franchisees and managers were able to easily place orders, track deliveries, and view order history. This led to fewer customer service calls and allowed the client to better allocate their resources.

Our Expertise in Action

Mobile Application Development

An ice manufacturer's franchisees and delivery managers had no way to place orders or check delivery status without calling an already overwhelmed call center. Ollon built a React Native mobile application covering order placement, delivery tracking, driver information, and order history, then extended it through three rounds of feature work including quick order and bulk pallet order options. Later maintenance kept the app running as its underlying tools moved forward, including updating React Native and Node versions so the project would still build on newer operating systems. The mobile app became the default way franchisees interacted with the business, reducing the call volume the client had been trying to solve from the start.

Business System Integrations

Orders placed through an ice manufacturer's mobile app needed to land directly in the systems the business used for customers and fulfillment, not sit in a separate database someone had to reconcile manually. Ollon integrated the mobile application directly with Microsoft Dynamics, so franchisee orders, delivery schedules, and driver information stayed connected to the client's existing operational data instead of duplicating it in a system built just for the app. That integration meant the mobile app functioned as a front end on systems the business already relied on, not a parallel process running alongside them. Franchisees got a simpler way to interact with the same data the client's team had always used to run the business.

Custom application development

An ice manufacturer already had a mobile ordering app, but its franchisee network also needed a web based way to place and manage orders, one that shared the same login and account setup as the mobile experience instead of requiring a separate account. Ollon built that companion web application from scratch. Sharing login and account data between the web and mobile experiences meant franchisees could move between placing an order on their phone and managing it from a desktop without friction. That custom development gave the client's network a second channel into the same ordering system, not a second system to maintain.
