Team augmentation and staff scaling
Clickfree, an established backup storage device company, wanted to add private photo sharing to its product line without building out a whole new internal team to do it. Ollon augmented Clickfree's existing team with experienced developers, working against tight delivery targets from the start. That augmented team delivered a working prototype within three months, one Clickfree could showcase at CIS, and continued on to build multiple further releases, refining the product and its user experience based on direct customer feedback. The engagement scaled from an initial prototype into an ongoing build across several product releases.
Machine Learning
Private photo sharing among friends only worked as a feature if the app could recognize who was in a photo, not rely on people tagging themselves manually. Ollon built a face recognition system for the Kooboodle app using machine learning, developed in Python and OpenCV alongside the main C# and Xamarin codebase. That recognition system was the core piece that let Clickfree offer photo sharing as a genuine value add for its backup storage customers, not just a basic photo upload feature. The system went through multiple releases as Clickfree refined the product based on real customer feedback.
Mobile Application Development
Clickfree needed its private photo sharing idea to work as a real iOS and Android app its backup storage customers could install and use. Ollon built the Kooboodle app for both platforms using C# and Xamarin, supporting iOS and Android from one shared codebase. That mobile build carried the face recognition and photo sharing features Clickfree wanted, and went through several releases as the team refined the app's functionality and user experience based on customer feedback after launch.
Rapid prototyping
Clickfree needed something it could actually show a room full of people at CIS within a matter of months, not a fully finished product. Ollon delivered a working prototype of Kooboodle within the first three months of the engagement, giving Clickfree a real, demonstrable app for the trade show instead of a slide deck describing an idea. That early prototype became the foundation for the product, carried forward into multiple further releases as Clickfree gathered real customer feedback and refined the experience. Speed to a working demo mattered as much as the underlying technology itself.
