Wealth Management and Investment Banking Firm

AWS Migration Load Testing for Financial Services

A wealth management firm operating across more than 400 locations saw applications fail unexpectedly while migrating hundreds of systems to AWS. Ollon built Python load testing scripts that hit each application with expected production traffic and retested fixes before migration proceeded. The firm now has confidence in its applications' stability, with Ollon continuing support through the migration.

A diversified global wealth management and investment banking firm serving individual investors, institutions, corporations, and municipalities across more than 400 locations was migrating hundreds of applications from on premises servers to AWS as part of a planned infrastructure modernization.

Ollon was engaged to assess and load test the applications the company identified as requiring validation before their cloud migration. Ollon developed load testing scripts written in Python, designed to hit each application with the volume of requests it was expected to handle in production. The team integrated with the company's SSO system to avoid repeated authentication on every request, and handled both browser and Windows task application flows throughout the engagement.

The load testing program gave the company confidence in their applications before moving to production, while surfacing infrastructure gaps that could be addressed ahead of time. Several applications that failed under load were identified and retested following remediation, validating the fixes before migration proceeded. Ollon continues to support the engagement as the company works through the remaining stages of their AWS transition.

Our Expertise in Action

Load Testing

A global wealth management and investment banking firm needed to know whether hundreds of applications could handle real production traffic before moving them to AWS. Ollon built load testing scripts in Python using Locust, designed to hit each application with the volume of requests it was expected to handle in production, integrating with the client's SSO system and covering both browser and Windows task application flows. Several applications failed under that testing, surfacing infrastructure gaps the team could address before they reached production. Each fix was retested under the same load, giving the client confidence in the applications before the migration proceeded.

Cloud Migration

A global wealth management and investment banking firm was migrating hundreds of applications from on premises servers to AWS. Ollon joined that migration effort as the team validating application readiness, building load testing scripts in Python and Locust to confirm each application could handle expected production traffic before its cutover. Applications that failed under testing were flagged, fixed, and retested against the same load before being cleared to move. That validation gave the migration team a documented signal on each application before it went live in AWS, with the engagement continuing as Stifel works through its remaining application groups.
